What is Islam?

What is Islam

'Laiilaha Iillal La ha Mohammad ur Rasulullah 'The  Kalama of Islam named' Tayyab 'means' Pak' and its translation is as follows-

  ' there is no other god then allah .and Huzoor Pak Sallallaho Aleh Wasallam is his prophet.'

 It is important for every Muslim to remember this Kalma.  Now let's talk about how Islam started.  It is  said that Islam who has reached the people with the authority of Allah. Islam is the only universal religion that the God has chosen for all the humanity to the day of judgment. 'Islam' is Arabic word which means submission and surrender. Thus, as a religion, Islam means complete surrender and submission to God and His laws.Prophets in Islam are individuals who were sent by allah to various communities in order to serve as examples of ideal human behavior and to spread Allah's message on Earth.

 Some prophets are categorized as messengers, those who transmit divine revelation through the intercession of an angel. According to Quran and hadith, there were 25 Prophets. They are Adam, Nuh, Idris, Hud, Salih, Ibrahim, Lut, Ismail, Al-Yasa, Zulkifl, Ilyas, Ayyub, Yunus, Ishaq, Yaqub, Yusuf, Shuaib, Musa, Harun, Dawood, Sulaiman, Zakariya, Yahya, Ismail the keeper of his word, Isa, and Muhammad Sallallaho Aleah wassallam. there were about 1,24,000 prophets that were send to humanity through out the earth. by name in quran only 25 are mentioned .there is a difference between a Rasool (Messenger) and a Nabi (Prophet). All messengers are prophets but not all prophets are messengers. Eg. Prophet Musa(Moses) pbuh was also a Messenger because he recieved the Taurat (Book) or new shariah (laws). While his Brother Prophet Harun (Aaron)pbuh was just a Prophet because he was preaching the message of his Brother. Muhammad Sallallaho Aleah wassallam is the founder of the religion of Islam.  Our beloved prophet was born on the 12th of Hijri Rabiul Topper month in the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

There are five pillars of Islam -

  •  Witnessing the lailaha illallah
  •  To give zakat (which can be given according to status)
  •  Fasting (in the month of ramadan)
  •  Hajj (according to status)
 But just by completing these things no one becomes a Muslim.  Once someone asked our beloved prophet Mohammad Sallallaho Aleah Wassalam what is Islam?  our prophet said ,speak sweet words, and feed people. The poor cannot feed, but they can speak sweet words.  A person who does not know mankind does not know sweet tongue, he cannot be a Muslim.  And the person who does not hurt anyone with his tongue and hand, is a top class Muslim and knows Islam.

In the Quran verse, Islam has been told that-

To kill one person and spread the evil is equivalent to killing the whole world. {Quran-5/32}

Help each other in righteousness and abstinence, and do not help each other in crime and torture. {Quran- 5/2}

If someone takes care of his two or three daughters, gives better dignity and knowladge of Deen and the world, gets married, treats them better, he will go to heaven. {Abu Dawood- 5147}

 The life and teachings of our beloved prophet  Mohammed Sallallaho Aleah wassallam and the story of early Islam are revealed in the Hadith, which are collections of sayings about the Prophet that have been handed down through generations by skilled and trusted oral historians. These chains of religious transmission vary however, and thus have been disputed frequently among different schools of Islamic law and theology. While generally in agreement about the Quran, various sects of Islam diverge largely over the authenticity or interpretation of each other's Hadith.

"When you see a person who has been given more than you in money and beauty, then look to those who have been given less."
